Upcoming Harvest Events at The Olive Press
Harvest season is just around the corner, and with its arrival comes fresh olive oil—and a host of community events celebrating fresh extra virgin olive oil. Needless to say, it’s our favorite time of the year!
Here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming Harvest 2012 events we have scheduled. Stay tuned for additional details on each event, and don’t forget to save the dates. We hope to see you there!
November 9-11: Tasting Table at the Napa Valley Film Festival
This isn’t an event typical of The Olive Press, but we’re honored to participate in it. We’ll be serving up samples of assorted olive oils at our tasting table at the much anticipated Napa Valley Film Festival. Get more info here.
November 17-18: Holiday in Carneros
Once again, this yearly soiree is one that we’re excited to a part of. Over the weekend, about 20 wineries will be opening their doors to offer special discounts, samples, and events for all participants. The event spans the Carneros region of the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, and we’ll be present with a tasting table in the piazza that we share with Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. Get more info here.
November 25: First Community Press Day
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, join us at our Sonoma location for our first Community Press Day of the season! It’s one of our most anticipated events of the whole year, and we invite you to join us as we turn local hobbyists’ olives into “liquid gold.” Get more info here.
December 1: Blessing of the Olives
Held at the historic Mission Sonoma, the annual Blessing of the Olives is a ceremony that kicks off the Sonoma Valley Season of the Olive. The event will include live music, speeches, hot chocolate and more—all in the name of olives. Get more info here.
December 1: The Olive Press Open House
Also on December 1, we’ll be holding a special Open House at our Sonoma location from 10:00-5:00. Come by to learn how we make olive oil, watch the mill in operation while enjoying hot apple cider and seasonal cookies.
